Where did it start?
Started in June 2002 as a segment of MBC's weekend variety show 'Saturday Achievement,' before becoming an independent program on October 26 of that year, with Kang Ho-dong hosting under his own name for the first time. The format showed celebrity men and women becoming couples through games and conversation, and unlike earlier dating shows aimed at ordinary people, such as 'Youth Date' and 'Studio of Love,' it drew popularity by highlighting the celebrities' human side. It is regarded as the forerunner of the matchmaking and couple-matching variety genre that followed.
